Our sales and marketing team are back from another gruelling BETT show and the good news for us techies is that our Digital Signage education plugin which we mentioned in the blog last week was received really well at the show.

As we said last week, the idea behind the new plugin was to make it a lot easier for schools to use MediaCAT as an Electronic Notice Board. There are pre-defined templates for key areas such as reception, canteen, staff room and general student areas and once you have uploaded your School's logo and set your name, there is a web interface which can be used to update an events calender, canteen menu, sports results tables or just to create simple messages.

We tried to make the user interface as simple and as easy as possible to use and it seems like we managed to achieve that fine balance of having enough useful features in the interface without it getting too bloated and cumbersome to use.

We've got some great feedback from the people that we demoed the system to, so we'll be updating the plugin with a few of those ideas before we finish off the testing and roll it out as a full release.
